On Thursday, August 2, 2012, the President of the United States will visit Leesburg for a campaign event at Loudoun County High School (415 Dry Mill Road SW). A number of road closures will occur prior to and during the presidential visit. The campaign event is a ticketed event and no one will be admitted to the event area without a ticket. It will not be possible to view any portion of the event from outside the event area. Tickets are being distributed by the Obama for America re-election campaign, not by the Town of Leesburg or the Leesburg Police Department.
In order to facilitate travel and safety during the presidential visit, the Leesburg Police Department advises everyone to avoid the area unless attending the event. Again, the event is a ticketed one and every attendee must have a ticket. The following roads will be closed on Thursday, August 2, 2012:
The Obama for America campaign recommends that attendees park at the Loudoun County Fairgrounds (17558 Dry Mill Road, Leesburg). Shuttle buses will be available to transport attendees to and from the event. Tickets for the event are being distributed by the Obama for America campaign at three locations: Loudoun County High School (415 Dry Mill Road SW, Leesburg), the Leesburg campaign office (56 Sycolin Road SE, Leesburg) and the Sterling campaign office (46936 Benedict Drive, Suite 200, Sterling). No one will be admitted to the event without a ticket.
