Fitsum Abrha Gebretatios
HERNDON, Va. -
Police say they are not sure if the man they found dead near the scene of a hit-and-run accident is the husband of the victim.
It all started when a woman was found dead in the 600 block of Center Street in Herndon shortly after midnight Tuesday night.
A car owned by her husband struck several vehicles at a high speed near where her body was discovered. The victim's husband is 32-year-old Fitsum Abrha Gebretatios. Police released his picture and called him a person of interest they wanted to locate and talk to.
They refused to say if he was driving the car when it crashed into the other vehicles. They also would not say if that car, a black Toyota Camry, struck his wife.
Police searching the area for clues stumbled onto the body of a man in a creek bed near the accident scene. They say the body closely resembles Gebretatios. They are waiting for an autopsy to help determine identity.
Police continue to seek information regarding the event and ask that those with information contact the Herndon Police Department at 703-435-6846.
