Friends and family of a murdered Grant Park man believed he was targeted.
David McReynolds, 54, had just left a neighborhood grocery store last Thursday afternoon when the shooting occurred, according to family members.
"He was just targeted -- he loved to play the lotto and so he was targeted," said Angela Sheats, who said she lived with McReynolds for more than 16 years.
McReynolds along Augusta Avenue, less than half a mile from the store where family members say he walked everyday.
"He came by here Thursday, they said he had hit the numbers real big…and he had got his money and went back up there," said Anita Spear.
McReynolds was known to family as "Bubba." They also called him a "gentle giant" and say he worked at the Scott Antique Market.
"He really loved people," said Sheats.
McReynolds funeral is planned for this weekend.
Atlanta police say they're investigating and searching for the person or people responsible for his death. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
