WASHINGTON -
Getting to work is going to be a little bit easier for thousands of people who come into the District on the 11th Street Bridge.
A new ramp was opened Monday. It connects DC 295 to the 11th Street Bridge. The new ramp is expected to cut commute times by as much as 10 minutes.
D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray drove the first car across the new ramp. Gray says this new ramp won't only improve traffic, it will also help keep commuters out of nearby neighborhoods.
Other ramps are also under construction that will help commuters leaving the city. Transportation officials say the project should be complete by the end of the year.
