Warner Brothers will postpone the release of "Gangster Squad" from September to January out of respect for the victims of the shootings in Aurora, Colorado.
The film's trailer ran before showings of "The Dark Knight Rises."
That's the film that was playing during the shootings that left 12 dead, but the trailer was not shown at that screening.
"Gangster Squad" includes a pivotal scene in which gangsters shoot from behind a movie screen into a crowded theater.
The film is expected to be reshot and edited.
The trailer has been pulled from theaters and the Internet.
