37-year-old Andrew Kugler is under arrest and has been charged in the killing of his ex-girlfriend in her home in Berwyn Heights.
36-year-old Amber Schinault was found dead around 3 p.m. Sunday in the basement of her house.
Police say Kugler was a suspect right away. Prince George's County Police spotted his car near the College Park Metro station.
There was a brief chase, and when Kugler got out of the car, police noticed his wrists had been slit. He is under police guard at a local hospital, but faces charges of second-degree manslaughter.
Court documents show Kugler was arrested for assault back in June when Schinault obtained a restraining order against him. Berwyn Heights Police say they had been to the home several times before for service calls.
