Police arrested a man they say attempted to rob an Amish couple as they were riding in their horse and buggy.
The incident happened Sunday just before 12:30 p.m. near Hartly, Delaware.
Officers say the couple was riding in their buggy near Holly Island Road and Bryants Corner Road when a car pulled in front of them and forced them to stop.
An armed man exited the car and demanded money from the couple.
When the couple was unable to produce any money, the gunman re-entered his vehicle and sped off.
The couple contacted police and provided them with a registration number for the vehicle.
Officials say the gunman, identified as 45-year-old Mark A. Carter, was quickly located and arrested.
In addition to being wanted on outstanding warrants, Carter faces numerous charges including attempted robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
