It was a celebration of a life, but there was no joy in celebrating. The First Baptist church in Linden was packed with hundreds of mourners saying goodbye to 18-year-old Amber Wilson.
Wilson was shot and killed last week during a robbery as she walked home from Dunkin Donuts. It was just a few weeks after her high school graduation.
Thursday she was remembered by her friends; her fellow cheerleaders at Linden High School read a poem.
Dressed in their uniforms, members of Wilson's squad carried flowers out of the church. Members of the school's football team carried the casket.
Wilson had planned to attend St Peter's College in the fall to study criminal justice. Now her family and friends are looking for justice- as police continue to search for her killer.
