Detroit City Council reviews Financial Advisory Board's plan

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

Detroit City Council members were busy today, reviewing the Financial Advisory Board's plan to fix the city's money crisis.

Union leaders and city employees are fired up over the proposal unveiled before City Council today.

The plan is expected to save the city $102 million dollars, but it also includes a 10% wage cut for all city workers, as well as cuts to other benefits. One union leader begged council to stand up and vote down the proposal.

The Detroit City Council could vote on the proposal tomorrow, but it's not clear if they will have enough people to vote. It's also unclear if it will pass.

Their vote doesn't exactly matter, as the board can still proceed with their plans with or without council's approval.
