Dinnerware, glassware, toys, food, and home furnishings are things can put a dent in your family budget. However, there are discount stores that can help you save money on those items.

Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree are not huge stores, but they are jam-packed with necessities, and the most popular products that people buy. These items are sold at a big discount.
 
Those discounts are important for Adrianne Cater, an East Point mother of five.

"If you have a large family like I do, there are a lot of things you can get cheap," said Carter.

Carter shops at Dollar General three to four times a week for things like cleaning products, snacks, and hair care. Top brands like Bounty, Kleenex, Puffs, and Angel Soft are a few of the brand names that are available at a discount.
 
Family Dollar also carries necessities, and many brand name products. They recently expanded their food and health and beauty sections.

"It's essential that people come and find value when they shop. It doesn't matter the income level, it stretches across income boundaries," said Family Dollar Area Operations Manager Bob DiCocco.

Family Dollar isn't just good for cleaning products. They have a big selection of home furnishings, kitchen essentials, and glassware. They also sell school uniforms.
 
At Dollar Tree, everything is $1. Lauri Love, coordinator at the Roswell Visual Arts Center, says those prices are just right for her. She's able to find party and art supplies for her family and for the children at the arts center.

"This just stretches what we have. We can offer the kids more choices, more materials," said Love.

If you're planning a party or need to buy a gift, Dollar Tree is perfect for decorations, gift bags, bows, and wrapping paper. You can get some great kid's gifts for party favors. They also have a frozen food section with everything from vegetables to shrimp.
