Trains on all five Metro lines were forced to come to a halt Saturday afternoon after a computer glitch and again overnight.
The trains were stopped on all five lines because of the glitch, which kept Metro from being able to see where the trains were on their routes.
The issue began shortly after 2 p.m. Passengers reported long delays.
The computer system went down again around 1 a.m. on Sunday and lasted for about half and hour.
Metro says they are looking into the cause.
In addition, two stations are closed for weekend track work.
The stations at Reagan National and Crystal City are closed and there are limited trains on the red line.
Passengers will have to take a bus between Braddock Road and Pentagon City.
Other lines are single tracking while work is done.
