WINCHESTER, Va. -
A sixth grade teacher from Winchester was killed in a car crash Thursday. Amber Lucchiani taught at Robert Aylor Middle School.
The driver of a Ford pick-up that hit Lucchiani's mini-van was charged with reckless driving. Leslie Wylie was traveling eastbound on Jubal Early Drive when police say Wylie crossed the median and hit Lucchiani's mini-van traveling in the opposite direction.
Two children in the van were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Lucchiani died at the scene.

Mrs. Lucchiani was a valued member of the Frederick County Public Schools family for a total of 8 years. She was a devoted teacher who had a passion for working with students and helping them succeed. Mrs. Lucchiani's principal has shared that she had a special ability to engage students in the learning process and loved helping all students, particularly the most needy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We extend our condolences to her family.
