Police hand out flyers, search for leads in Gaithersburg sex assault

GAITHERSBURG, Md. -

Montgomery County Police are out in force trying to come up with new leads in the sexual assault of a woman earlier this week.

It happened at the Green Farm Conservation Park in Gaithersburg on Monday.

A 21-year-old female reported that she was at the lake to the rear of the Hadley Farms community pool when she was attacked by a man. The suspect was armed with a knife and sexually assaulted her.

Captain Paul Starks joined us from Gaithersburg where officers have hit the streets handing out flyers.

The suspect was last seen leaving the park on foot in the direction of Brenish Drive. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5'05″ to 5'07″ tall, weighing 130 to 150 pounds, wearing a black knit cap and blue jeans.
