A snake approximately four to five feet in length was found at the Hess gas station on Broadway in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
Initial reports of a snake as large as 14 feet were incorrect.
SkyFoxHD was over the scene as an animal control officer captured the large snake Thursday at about 7:30 a.m.
Station manager Rene Esseya tells The Record newspaper he researched the snake on his phone and it looked like a black rat snake from Alabama, reports the AP.
Reports from the scene indicate customers were afraid to leave the station out of fear they'd be attacked by the snake.
