WASHINGTON -
A tree has fallen onto several cars in Northwest D.C. Tuesday evening.
The cars were parked along Porter Street near Rock Creek Park. The debris from the tree also ended up blocking the street. A crew from D.C. Urban Forestry was sent to help with the cleanup.
"It's probably the age of the trees if you look at them," said Captain Charles Mack of D.C. Fire and EMS. "That tree probably took a little damage from the storm. It's an older tree. And if you look at the top of it, it looks kind of rotten."
There was no one injured from the fallen tree.
Mack says firefighters also used thermal imaging devices to make sure there were no pedestrians walking by when the branches fell.
