Sand tunnel collapses on man in Rehoboth Beach - DC Breaking Local News Weather Sports FOX 5 WTTG

A man was rescued after a sand tunnel he was digging collapsed on top of him Thursday.

The incident happened in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware around 2:30 p.m.

According to a report on wgmd.com, a 24-year-old man was digging the sand tunnel on the beach near Delaware Avenue when the accident happened.

The sand trapped him for about 5 minutes before bystanders and lifeguards could dig him out.

He is currently recovering at a local hospital.
