Fox 2 like a ghost town on the 4th

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

The lights were dim Wednesday at Fox 2.  Desks were barren with imaginary tumbleweeds.  There were no celebrity guests in our green room.  Prop storage was more like the set of a horror movie.

"I don't mind working today," said Fox 2 reporter Al Allen.  "I haven't worked the Fourth of July in a long time, but it was fun.  We did the parade this morning in Milford and we had a great time, we really did.  The weather was nice.  It was warm, but it was nice.  No complaints."

What would he call all the people that took the day off?  Slackers?  Ne'er-do-wells?

"I would say so.  I worked.  They can work, too."

However, in his video report, Jason Carr shows you that just because you're at work doesn't mean you're working hard.  He even managed to file this report without leaving the building.
