It turns out you do not have to get on an airplane to see the sun peek through a palm tree. There are palm trees in Gaithersburg, Md.
They are not the real thing, but they do add a nice touch to the newly renovated Gaithersburg Water Park at Bohrer Park. The park has just reopened after a $1.4 million renovation.
"We opened in 1991 so it came time to repair the facility to get ahead of any problems we may encounter," says Adam Goldstein, the park's aquatic manager.
While they were at it, they added a new slide and lots of new water features. Taxpayers say it is well worth the investment.
