Metro Transit officer shoots and kills man in Md.

A Metro Transit police detective shot and killed a man aftera shootout in Lanham, Maryland on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on Lory Lane as the detective arrived at the man's houseto follow up on an investigation.

Witnesses heard shouting and saw the officer running beforethe gunfire.
