TAKOMA PARK, Md. -
Police are looking for a suspect who attacked and stabbed a man during Tuesday afternoon's rush hour in Takoma Park.
The victim was walking south on New Hampshire Avenue towards Eastern Avenue when he was approached by a man walking behind him, who demanded his backpack. There was a struggle. Police say the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times, then fled with the backpack, which contained a laptop.
The victim was transported by helicopter to a local hospital in critical condition. He has not been identified.
Police say the suspect ran towards Prince George's County.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, approximately 5'11", thin athletic build, dark complexion, short dark hair, stubble facial hair, wearing blue jeans and black shoes.
