The suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a woman found in a Dewey Beach motel room has been found dead in New Jersey.
Delaware State Police say 26-year-old Pawan Kumar of Wilmington, Del. was found dead in the Bellville Motor Lodge in Bellville, N.J.
Police obtained arrest warrants for Kumar, charging him with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
The victim, Danielle Mehlman of Bensalem, Pa., was found dead in a ground-floor room at the Atlantic Oceanside Motel on Coastal Highway. A cleaning lady found her body Monday morning.
The Medical Examiner's Office is continuing their investigation into Mehlman's cause of death.
Dewey Beach is a popular summertime destination between Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach along Delaware's Atlantic shore.
