DEWEY BEACH, Del. -
Dewey Beach has never had a murder in its 31-year history. But now, Delaware State Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman found in a local motel room.
Police say a cleaning woman discovered the body around 11 a.m. Monday on the floor of a room on the first floor of the Atlantic Oceanside Motel. They don't know who the victim is. Her body has been sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
Police have a person of interest they want to talk to. They have released two pictures of a man seen in an area beach store, but are not saying what his connection is to the case.
Yellow police tape cordoned off the area around the motel room and included a car with Pennsylvania plates.
Anyone that is able to identify this subject should contact Det. Chambers at 302-856-5850 ext. 206 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Information may also be provided via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com.
