Buses replace trains on section of Metro blue line

Metro says weekend track work will require blue line riders traveling between the Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street stations to take a free shuttle buses.

Metro says customers traveling through the area beginning Friday at 10 p.m. should add 30 minutes to their travel time.

Metro says orange, blue and red line trains will single track on parts of their respective lines throughout the weekend. On the red line, trains will share a single track between Friendship Heights and Medical Center and between Takoma and Forest Glen. Customers traveling through those areas should add an additional 15 minutes to their travel time.

Orange and blue line trains will single track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory. Customers traveling through the area should add an additional 10 minutes to their travel time.
