Interim D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson
WASHINGTON -
On the day after Phil Mendelson was voted in as Chairman of the D.C. Council, changes were taking place at the Wilson Building.
City workers changed several nameplates throughout the building, including outside the Chairman's official office.
Former Council Chairman Kwame Brown left that office last week before pleading guilty to bank fraud and a campaign violation.
Mendelson says he won't use the Chairman's office or the Chairman's parking spot behind the Wilson Building unless there is limited parking in the front of the building. He plans to run council business from his current At-Large office on the fourth floor. Mendelson did not want District tax dollars to be spent to make the move before the November election.
