DETROIT (WJBK) -

The owner of 8 Mile Automotive says days after a man came in with an AK-47, he is still getting calls from the shooter threatening to come back and finish the job.

"Came into work this morning with a bulletproof vest on," said Moe Fawaz.

A bullet proof vest and a gun in his pocket, Fawaz says he will not be a victim.

Video from 8 Mile Automotive on June 4 shows a man with an AK-47 walked into the auto repair shop in broad daylight and opened fire.  Women and children ran for their lives.  Police collected more than a half a dozen shell casings from the scene.

"This guy came in with an AK-47 to shoot and kill, and it was treated like a minor traffic violation."

Fawaz felt the shooting didn't get the attention it deserved until he called Fox 2.

"The sergeant did what he had to, took our statements, took more evidence, downloaded the video.  This morning, again, they sent another detective out who took more video, downloaded more stuff off the TV, the full suspect pictures, so because of you, we've got the ball rolling."

The suspect ran into the alley, but Fawaz saw his face and it matched the picture shown to him by police after our report.

"The picture was a few years old, but an older version of him, and I'll never forget those eyes."

This is not the first time the Fawaz family has been attacked.  Last week, Fawaz's brother was beaten with a hammer at his auto repair shop down the street.  He needed surgery to put his eye back in place.

The suspect claims Fawaz's brother owes him $8,000 and he'll come after the whole family to get it.

"If they would've caught them a week ago when the original attack happened, they would've never came down here," Fawaz said.

Does he think it was the same guys?

"We know it was the same guys. 100-percent."

Fawaz says he found the suspect's information in the database of an auto repair shop owned by another family member.  He says the car on file matched the getaway car and the contact number is the same number that showed up on his caller I.D. more than 30 times in the last few days, the voice on the other end promising to come back and finish what he started. Fawaz hopes he's arrested before that happens.

"He's definitely saying he will, so I didn't believe him the first time. I won't make that mistake again."
