2 pounds lean ground Turkey
½ white onion diced fine
1Tb olive oil or butter
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 1/4 cups Organic ketchup
1 cup barbecue sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons chopped pickled jalapeños (optional)
1 Tb cumin
Sea salt and pepper to taste
8 Wheat hamburger buns, toasted
1. Heat olive oil and sauté onion for a minutes or two, add ground turkey and brown over medium high heat , stirring until turkey crumbles and is no longer pink; drain well. Return cooked Turkey to sauté pan.
2. Add remaining ingredients an season, simmer for a quick 10-15 minutes and season to taste
3. . Serve mixture on toasted Wheat buns.
4. Great served with; green, potato or Cole slaw style salads
MAKE DOUBLE BATCH OF TURKEY JANE'S AND USE IN A VARIETY OF WAYS!
BBQ turkey Queso's :
Flour tortilla folded with Sloppy Jane's, sautéed peppers and cheese grill on both sides, serve with salsa
Sloppy Turkey Tex- Mex Rice Bake: serves 4-6
2 cups cooked rice of your choice, 1 can black beans, 1 cup fresh or frozen corn, and 1/3 cup of salsa; mix rice with ingredients place in casserole dish, top with 2 cups Sloppy Jane and sprinkle with 1 cup of co-jack cheese; bake at 350 until bubbly about 15-20 minutes
Turkey Taco Salad serves 4
2 cups shredded Lettuce, 1 diced tomato, 1 can kidney beans, 4 green onions diced, 1 cup shredded cheddar, 4 oz tortilla chips lightly crushed ,1/3 cup salsa; toss all ingredients divide among four plates, top each plate with ½ cup Sloppy Jane , dollop of sour cream and garnish with a couple whole chips .
