Termites and house damage

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Georgia is known in some circles as the mecca of the termite world. While lenders used to require a wood destroying organism report, known as a termite letter, they decided several years ago that they would no longer make the report a requirement for closing.

Most buyers now overlook the problem, never knowing whether or not their home is being slowly destroyed from within. These organisms are easily controlled, but typically cause damage silently and slowly over a period of years. By the time the damage is obvious, it is usually widespread.
