Atlanta Weather Forecast - Thursday

ATLANTA, Ga. -
STRONG COLD FRONT THIS EVENING

A strong cold front will move through metro Atlanta this evening with t-showers capable of producing wind gusts to 40 mph and frequent cloud to ground lightning.

TIMING: The current line of showers and t-showers will continue to move southeast and will move east and southeast of Atlanta by 6pm. The showers will continue to move southeast at 20mph and should reach Covington by 7pm. Although a stray shower could form behind the front, skies should gradually clear as we head toward midnight.

BEHIND THE FRONT: As the cold front moves south we will see more stable air return to the southeast allowing for more sun through the weekend. Along with the sunny skies temperatures will be on the rise as well. Highs over the weekend will climb into the low 90s.
