From their world-class view engineers spent a couple of weeks rappelling down the Washington Monument looking for earthquake damage. It's a view of the National Mall that the rest of us will never see.
The crews finished up their second pass of the Monument Wednesday. Now, officials are trying to figure out just how much money is needed to repair the monument.
Erik Sewn, one of the climbers from Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, joined us to talk about what it was like at 555 feet in the air hanging from ropes.
