Tyrone Lewis Arrested in Murder of Lenny Harris; Third Arrest Made in Case


Prince George’s County Police have announced a third arrest in the murder of community activist Lenny Harris.

Police have arrested 26-year-old Tyrone Lewis. Investigators believe he is the alleged triggerman in this crime. Police also say Lewis is the man seen on surveillence video using Harris' ATM card on King Street around 1 a.m. on September 22.

Lewis is currently being detained at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on unrelated charges.

Monday’s announcement comes on the same day of Harris’ funeral.

Harris’ body was found in a well in Fort Washington in January. He had been missing since September.

According to court documents, Lewis lives near the property on Old Fort Road in Fort Washington where Harris' body was found.

Police have also arrested 49-year-old Linwood Johnson and 20-year-old Ivan Newman in Harris' death. Both are being held without bond.

Police believe robbery was the motive.

Prince George's County Poilce say this is the final arrest in the case.
