34 year old Hugo Sanchez has been on the run for seven years. Chicago police and FBI agents say he disappeared after he was charged with sexually assaulting his cousin's three young daughters. The girls were ages nine, thirteen and fifteen years old. Sanchez also allegedly video taped two of the sexual encounters.
Investigators say there were multiple assaults between 2001 and 2003. That's when Sanchez was living with his cousin and his family at their home in the 5400 block of south Washtenaw. They also say Sanchez cooperated with the investigation and, according to court records, admitted to sexually assaulting the three girls. While a Cook County judge initally denied Sanchez bond, its not clear why it was later reduced and he was released. No one has seen Sanchez since August of 2003.
However, the FBI's Tom Trautmann says Sanchez has been spotted a number of times in Mexico in the last five and a half years. Despite those sightings, agents believe Sanchez may be coming back to Chicago occasionally to see the the friends and family he still has here.
Here is what investigators say Sanchez looks like. He is described as a hispanic male, about five feet eight inches, weighing around 180 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police.
