The photo collection forensic investigators found in 37 year old Ruben Sanchez's computer might shock you. It includes 29 compact discs filled with pornographic images and over 600 lap top computer files. Investigators say those pornographic images were of children. While its alarming to find such a large collection of child porn, agents also say it is not unusual.
The feds began targeting Sanchez two years ago. Thats when an undercover agent went online to check out a limewire 'peer to peer' sharing site and found child porn images being downloaded.
First he traced those photos back to a computer at a Bolingbrook house and then eventually to Sanchez. Investigators say Sanchez was staying there with some of his relatives while he was in between jobs. The FBI's Ross Rice says, " He knew what was on the computer and what we were going to find. He fled the residence the day we did the search. "
Agents took Sanchez's computer while executing a search warrant in January 2008.
A year later, Federal prosecutors charged him with possession of child pornography. So for the last year, Sanchez has been the target of a nationwide manhunt by the Chicago FBI.
Rice adds Sanchez does have a number of family and friends in the Chicago area, including Bensonville, Matteson, and Bolingbrook but a search of all those locations has turned up nothing.
Thats why agents want to know if you have seen him. Agents say Sanchez is described as a
hispanic male, about five feet seven inches tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
If you see him, call police.
