If 18 year old Lorenzo Sanchez Jimenez continues to follow in the footsteps of his two brothers, FBI agents say he'll wind up where they are. In a federal prison in downtown Chicago.
FBI agents arrested Enrique Sanchez Junior and Porfirio Sanchez-Jimenez last year.
It was part of a two year undercover investigation called "Operation Broken Deams." Federal prosecutors charged all three brothers, their dad and 12 others with running a sophisticated drug distribution ring in the Des Plaines area.
Agents say Enrique Junior, was the head of the operation. His brothers and dad were couriers. The FBI's Ross Rice says Lorenzo would travel by bus or by plane to Texas drop off large bundles of cash and return with kilos of cocaine to be distributed in the northwestern suburbs. In August of 2008, FBI agents intercepted one of his shipments at this bus station as he returned from a trip to Dallas.
But when agents tried to arrest all 16 defendants last year, Lorenzo Sanchez Jimenez and his dad Enrique Senior could not be found. Agents say the Sanchez drug ring is part of a Mexican based cartel that operates in the northwest suburbs. They also say it went undetected for years. until FBI agents got a tip.
With his older brothers now behind bars awaiting trial, investigators are hoping another tip from you will help them track down Lorenzo Sanchez Jimenez. His last known address is in Aurora but agents say he be hiding out in the Dallas, Texas area or in Mexico. That makes Sanchez-Jimenez the target of an international search by the FBI.
Investigators describ Lorenzo Sanchez Jimenez as an 18 year old hispanic male, about five feet nine inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds, with dark hair and eyes.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police.
