While one Chicago man is behind bars, another is on the run for his role in a double shooting at a northwest side park in June.
Investigators are on the hunt for 32 year old Dionisio "Dion" Gonzalez. They believe he acted as the "getaway driver" in the June 8th shooting at Avondale Park that left a two year old and a seven year old girl injured. Authorities have already arrested and charged the gunman, Antonio Bucio. Both men are members of the Maniac Latin Disciples
The shooting happened around 8 p.m., as Chicago police were holding a community policing meeting in the park's field house. Investigators believe Bucio was shooting at a rival gang member on a nearby basketball court who was "disrespecting his gang." The two year old girl suffered a graze wound to the back of her head while the seven year old girl was shot in the back.
Agents believe Gonzalez may have fled the state and is now the subject of a nationwide manhunt coordinated by the Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force. In addition to Illinois, they say he has friends and family in the Miami area. His last known address in Chicago is in the 3000 block of West Belden Avenue.
Here is a detailed description of what agents say Gonzalez looks like. He is a Black male, 5' 8", 135 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes. He also has several tattoos on his chest, back and arms.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police.
If you have any information about this case, call the Chicago FBI bureau at (312) 421-6700.
