Chicago has landed 500 new tech jobs. Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced on Tuesday that Accenture has committed to adding the jobs next year.
Accenture is a consulting and technology services company which currently has 5,000 employees in its Chicago office.
People are already wondering how to apply. We found Juan Garcia at a job training training center in the loop. He said it's been tough for his family since he lost his full-time job two years ago.
"I'm qualified to work with people help people in any way that I can and I'm a hard worker," he said.
Accenture is looking for highly motivated and dedicated individuals, people with some management consulting experience, people who have worked in technology services or in business processing including banking or capitol management.
Salaries will be based on what you know and how long you've been applying that knowledge on the job.
And if you have "no" on the job experience at all, they still want you to apply.
"This is awesome timing for me," said Kristy Bretbach, a senior at UIC. She'll get her degree in the spring and she already knows how tough it will be.
