The FBI is asking for your help in catching a bank robber who took extra steps to hide his identity from police.
This is a bank robber who knew he'd be on camera and knew the right demands to make to maximize his haul from a PNC Bank hold-up in Highland Park on Sept. 22.
Just after the bank opened, around 8 a.m., the robber gave the teller a note implying he had a gun and demanding money, not just from her teller drawer, but her reserve drawer as well. He told her not to put in any dye packs, and after getting the money, he ran off.
Based on his actions, the FBI thinks this robber might have had other opportunities to become familiar with bank practices, perhaps through employment, and/or that this might not be his first robbery.
There were also a few strange twists in this case. He indicated to the teller that several more accomplices had the bank surrounded, but there's no evidence that any one else was involved.
And before leaving the bank, he gave the teller a package and instructed the teller to go the bathroom and wait 15 minutes before activating any alarms.
This bandit went to great lengths to hide his identity and tried to look like a woman, wearing a wig, large dark sunglasses, and carrying a handbag.
The FBI describes him as:
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police.
