WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama says he's surprised that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is accusing him of failing to work with Congress on immigration. Obama told reporters during a press conference yesterday that they actually had a "very pleasant conversation" and that he called the Virginia Republican to wish him a happy Passover.

WASHINGTON (AP) - A lawyer says the man who claims he was punched by Chris Brown and his bodyguard is trying to "get rich." Bodyguard Christopher Hollosy is charged with misdemeanor assault. He and Brown were arrested in October after a Maryland man accused them of punching him outside a Washington hotel.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The D.C. Council is suing Mayor Vincent Gray's office for not enforcing a law that gives the city more control over its local budget. District voters approved a referendum in 2012 that allows the city to spend its local tax dollars without congressional authorization. Gray supported the measure but questioned its legality.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Right-hander Doug Fister threw two innings at extended spring training in Florida and could join the Nationals in about three weeks "assuming all goes well," manager Matt Williams said. Fister is on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 23 with a strained back muscle.
