Networking Tips for the Holiday Season

Posted: Updated:

Maribeth Kuzmeski, author and founder of Red Zone Marketing, says the holiday season offers many networking opportunities that could result in you landing your next job.

Kuzmeski has authored five books, including "The Connectors: How the Worlds Most Successful Businesspeople Build Relationships and Win Clients for Life" and "...And the Clients Went Wild! How Savvy Professionals Win All the Business They Want".

She talked with FOX 2's Roop Raj about how to network at holiday parties and get-togethers, click on the video player to watch.

Kuzmeski discusses the following eight tips in detail:

  1. Think like an introvert - if you have to go, have a plan.
  2. Let them do the talking. (You ask the questions!)
  3. Be prepared to pitch yourself in fifteen seconds.
  4. The party may end, but your connection shouldn't.
  5. Remember, who they know matters, too.
  6. Even family functions are networking opportunities.
  7. Give yourself the gift of a professional organization membership.
  8. Volunteer.
