ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The Maryland Democratic Party has filed a complaint against Republican Larry Hogan's campaign for governor. The party says the campaign violated election law through a grassroots group called Change Maryland that Hogan formed. The Hogan campaign says the allegation is groundless.

LANHAM, Md. (AP) - Prosecutors say they'll try again after a Prince George's County jury deadlocked in the attempted-murder trial of a D.C. police officer accused of trying to kill his wife. The jury deliberated several hours in the trial of Samson Lawrence. Police and prosecutors say he hit his wife in the head with a metal light fixture in November.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Renaissance artist Piero di Cosimo's career in painting will be examined next year in a major exhibition planned for Washington and Florence, Italy. The National Gallery of Art will announce it's organizing a retrospective of Piero's paintings with the Uffizi museum in Florence.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) - Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will miss the season opener against AFC North champion Cincinnati on Sept. 7 and the Sept. 11 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rice received a two-game suspension from the NFL following his offseason arrest for domestic violence.
