After two days of rain, the Potomac River briefly flooded a couple of low-lying streets in Alexandria on Thursday. The flooding occurred in the middle of the afternoon after the wind kicked up, pushing the river against Alexandria's docks.

The constant rain is causing flooding and high water across the DC Region. A water main break led to the closure of two lanes on the Capital Beltway's Inner Loop tonight, and flooding is possible in both Haines Point and Georgetown this afternoon. High wind restrictions are in effect on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
