Officials to Use Teflon, Dish Soap to Move Bridge

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Transportation officials plan to slide a 2.5 million pound bridge into place using dish soap.
The new bridge on I-80 at Parleys Summit is set to be moved this weekend.
Utah Department of Transportation engineer Tony Lau says the dish soap will be used to reduce friction and allow officials to slide the bridge into place.
KSL-TV reports the road will only be closed for roughly 14 hours from 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday as the old bridge is demolished and the new one slid in.
Officials say traffic will still be able to move through the area early Saturday night, but with long delays. They recommend drivers just avoid the area.
