Producers Say ‘Point Break’ Remake Is Back On

(NewsCore) - LOS ANGELES -- A previously canceled remake of the 1991 action movie "Point Break" has been resurrected, the World Entertainment News Network reported Tuesday.

Patrick Swayze was reportedly set to reprise his role as Bodhi, the leader of a gang of bank-robbing surfers, but the project was abandonded after his death from pancreatic cancer in September 2009.

However, production company Alcon Entertainment is once more working on a remake, with a representative telling Variety, "The new version is set in the world of international extreme sports, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring."

Keanu Reeves played the FBI agent in the original film, which also featured Gary Busey and Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis.
