U.S. Park Police have released the name of a man hit and killed by two U.S. Secret Service vehicles.
Police say 53-year-old Larry Moore of Temple Hills died after being hit early Wednesday on the Suitland Parkway near Naylor Road. Moore was taken to Prince George's Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Secret Service spokesman Malcolm Wiley says the two armored vehicles were traveling from Andrews Air Force Base to a Washington garage when the pedestrian was hit around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Suitland Parkway and Naylor Road in Temple Hills.
Wiley says the vehicles were returning from a vice presidential trip to Fort Lewis in Washington state. He says the Secret Service employees driving the vehicles immediately stopped to help the man.
The agency didn't release more details, citing the pending investigation.
