CENTREVILLE, Va. - Fairfax County Police are investigating an apparent robbery that ended in murder in Centreville.

Police are looking for two armed men who shot and killed the acquaintance of a family living in the 14200 block of Compton Road. It happened at a multi-million dollar home around 10:45 a.m.

Police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said four family members were home and an altercation developed between the acquaintance, some of the family members and the suspects.

Details are sketchy. Police brought a bloodhound and crime technicians to the scene. They said the suspects escaped into a wooded area. There is no word on whether they stole anything.

Police have not identified the dead man or the homeowner and his family, who are witnesses to the murder.
