A Manassas woman has pleaded guilty to killing her 13-year-old adopted daughter.

Alfreedia Gregg-Glover pleaded guilty Monday in Prince William County Circuit Court to felony murder, felony child abuse and filing a false police report. Authorities say 13-year-old Lexie Glover asked for help, but she never got it.

School employees who saw Lexie every day say she told them repeatedly, "If nobody's going to help me, my mom is going to kill me."

Lexie's adoptive mom, Alfreedia Gregg-Glover, plead guilty to felony murder Monday. The special needs child was found dead last January. She drowned in an icy Woodbridge creek.
School bus drivers and bus attendants say they had reported seeing Lexie crawling into the trunk of her mother's car and seeing her show up at the bus stop wearing nothing but a diaper. Brenda Taylor told FOX 5, "You make the comment that you don't want Lexie to fall through the cracks, but Lexie fell through a gaping hole, which social services made for her."

A detective testified the allegations of abuse began back in early 2004 with two reports to police and 11 reports to Social Services. Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert says he will ask for the maximum sentence in the case, which is 51 years. Ebert said Monday we may never know what really happened in the hours leading up to Lexie's death.

"All the evidence we have on her condition prior to being put in that creek is what the defendant tells us and her credibility isn't the best," Ebert told FOX 5.

Glover told the detective she gave Lexie Tylenol with codeine and then went to take a shower. Freda Glover says later she found Lexie unconscious outside the backdoor. Glover says she drove Lexie to the hospital, but never went inside. She told the detective she realized Lexie was "not okay."

On Monday, the Prince William County Police Department released a report saying it has discovered deficiencies in several areas and is working on improvements to training, communication, and interagency cooperation. Three sworn staff members have been disciplined because of the Glover case. Social Services has taken disciplinary action, too.

Glover will be sentenced in October.
