WASHINGTON - A new Virginia law kicks off in July with the goal of protecting student athletes from concussions.
This law will require every school to inform student athletes and parents about concussions and for any student suspected of having a concussion to leave the field and not be allowed to return until given written permission by a health care provider.
There is still a lot we don't know about concussions, but one school district is ahead of the game. They are on a mission to educate students, parents and coaches.
FOX 5's Beth Parker shows us what they are preaching could help all student athletes.
