WASHINGTON, D.C. - Cheese carver Troy Landwehr unveiled on his 6-foot, 8-inch statue of Abraham Lincoln in the shadow of the Lincoln Memorial on Friday.
The finishing of the life-sized cheesy Lincoln took place on Constitution Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Streets in Northwest D.C. Tourists and passers-by stopped to pose with it.
The statue was carved from a 1,000-pound block of cheddar cheese. Landwehr has also done cheese carvings Mount Rushmore and the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which was made from a one-ton block of cheese.
