ODENTON, Md. - Prince George’s County police arrested an off-duty officer after an alleged assault in Odenton Saturday.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a fight at Bill’s Lounge on Annapolis Road where they were told a male subject was armed with a handgun and was threatening a tow truck driver.

When they arrived, officers located the suspect, identified as 34 year old Nathaniel Daniels III, who was armed with a handgun. They were immediately advised by Daniels that he was an off-duty Prince Georges County Police officer.

Officers disarmed Daniels and placed him into handcuffs.

Police were told that the off-duty officer pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim and then shoved it into the victim’s face while forcing him back into the tow truck.

The incident happened after a vehicle had been towed earlier in the evening.

Daniels was arrested and charged with First and Second Degree Assault.
