Ann-Marie Luciano was breastfeeding her child at the Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick, Maryland last week when a customer service representative told her she had to move.
Luciano is now organizing a "nurse-in" in hopes of raising awareness of breastfeeding laws.
So is publicly breastfeeding your baby in our area a "no-no?"
Lily Fountain, nursing professor at University of Maryland and midwife and Jacquelyn Bell-Benton, board of directors and treasurer of the D.C. Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc. joined us to help clarify the laws for our area.
The nurse-in, where mothers are asked to come and nurse their babies, is this Saturday, June 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick.
