SILVER SPRING, Md. - Montgomery County police say a man has been charged after calling authorities to say he had killed his wife.
Authorities say 32-year-old Bernardo Paz Flores-Olvera called 911 from a pay phone about midnight Tuesday and said he had killed his wife about two hours earlier. The man told police his wife was in their apartment in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace.
Police say they found 33-year-old Elizabeth Velez Vasquez in a bedroom of the apartment. The woman had obvious trauma to her body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Flores-Olvera was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder. Police say he stabbed with wife with a knife and another sharp instrument. He is being held without bail.
